Revised Quarantine Measures regarding COVID-19 applied to foreign travelers
entering Korea from abroad
 

Dear SACs,

The Embassy has been advised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea of revised quarantine measures regarding COVID-19 applied to foreign travelers entering Korea from abroad. Please note hereunder;

Quote

  1. Beginning from 11 May 2020, all asymptomatic travelers coming from abroad shall be required to be tested for COVID-19 during the 14-day quarantine period. It is recalled that until 10 May 2020 testing was mandatory only for all asymptomatic travelers coming from Europe or the United States. All symptomatic inbound travelers are tested at the airport.
  2. Currently, all asymptomatic travelers with long-term visas (holders of alien registration cards) coming from Europe are required to be tested for COVID-19 upon arrival at the entry point and to observe self-quarantine at their residence. However, starting from 15 May 2020, they will be given 3 days from their arrival for testing, like travelers coming from the United States.
